James Curnow wrote this piece to try to capture the excitement on June 6, 1944, when World War II ended. The work starts out bright and upbeat but you will hear a change as times get tough. Just as the Allied Forces prevailed, so does the glorious melody in this work. We include a demonstration CD with this set to help your students hear their parts. There are many other works on this CD as well. You may want to listen to these other songs when planning your next concert.
